Carlota Cáceres is a versatile percussionist specializing in the commissioning of new works and the performance of solo and chamber music from the contemporary repertoire. Originally from Badajoz, Carlota graduated with honors in percussion in Balearic Islands, Spain. She received her Master’s of Music in performance in Basel with Christian Dierstein as professor.
She won first prize and second prize at Kiefer Hablitzel Stiftung competition and third prize at Förderpreis der BOG für Junge Musikerinnen.
Carlota is a founding member of ZAUM_percussion and performs with Nou Ensemble, focusing on the development of new music and new concepts. She also organizes Trobada de Percussió de Pollença and gives masterclasses about performative repertoire.
She has performed at Darmstadt Ferienkurse für Neue Musik, Manifeste, Davos Festival, Lucerne Festival, OJAI etc. Carlota combines her passion about contemporary music with a large orchestral experience. She lived in San Diego, invited from Steve Schick and University of California where she also collaborated with redfishbluefish.
Nowadays, Carlota lives in Palma where she is professor at Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears after having finished her second Master`s of Music focused in contemporary chamber music at Hochschule für Musik Basel.
